Bhagavan Chinthalayesan
Bhagavan Chinthalayesan who attained Mahasamadhi on 22nd June 2021, was born to Panimoolayil Brahmasree Neelakantha Perumal and Srimati Lakshmukutty Ammalu on 18th June 1934 at 6 am. His birthday according to the Malayalam Calendar falls on the 3rd of Mithunam month in the year 1109, on a Sunday when the Makam star concided with the Shasti Thiti in Sukla Paksha.
Only very few mortal beings have been able to understand Bahagvan’s true essence and they have not revealed what they have come to know according to his will and thus his greatness remains unknown to the public. He lived a simple life and consciously chose to stay out of the limelight. Love, Sacrifice and Truth have been the hallmarks in his life time of 88 years. Hailing from a poverty stricken background he used his austerity and penance to convert his life principles and philosophies into practice.
Pothencode Chinthalaya Ashramam has been created to further spirituality and penance. Adhyatma Chinthalaya Ashramam and the Chinthalaya Vidyalayam at Kallikad, Thiruvananthapuram have been eponymous with social justice and societal transformation. He never took disciples and continued his solitary existence by granting solace and refuge to all destitutes without expecting any returns.
He maintained his stoic nature while continuing to shower abundant grace and blessings on those who sought them. He kept his word to his Guru Sri. Chidambara Swamikal throughout his life, upon whose permission he setup the Ashrams, that he will himself be responsible for their functioning. His Guru advised him that “ who you really are is not to be broadcast to the material world”, and this advice fuelled his unrevealing attitude about his true identity.
In 2003, he created a Trust, named Chinthalaya Ashram Trust to delegate the responsibilities of day to day management of the Ashrams in a democratic setting. He also enacted committees such as Bhaktaseva Samithi, Mathruseva Samithi, Yuvajana Samithi and Bala Samithi to ensure the co-ordinated and streamlined functioning of the Ashrams.
He propounded the teachings of the eternal Vedas in his own language and through his very life itself. He conveyed the essence of the Mahakavyams ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ and ‘Tatvam Asi’ in his inimitable way as “Life is knowing the eternal, knowing the eternal within you and your union with that”. As an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent embodiment of the eternal, he dedicated his life for humanitarian concerns. For this, he sacrificed himself to ensure that the ones who seek refuge in him are bereft of all pain, destitution, and troubles. No words can describe the true nature and greatness of Bhagavan Chinthalayesan.
We the Chinthalaya Ashrama Trust bow at his lotus feet in salutation as we put forth these truths before the world.
